The oldest distillery on Islay, Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has it's own floor maltings which make up about 30% of their requirements. Their No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
Bottled for the Bicentenary of the distillery.
This bottle was originally for the Italian market and was imported by Fecchio & Frasssa.
Bottled at cask strength it is reputed to have been distilled somewhere between 1964 and 1969.
