Founded by Masataka Takersuru in 1934 Nikka is the second largest distiller in Japan. Starting with the Yoichi distillery and then adding Miayagikyo in 1969 Nikka also own Ben Nevis distillery in Scotland. Owned by Asahi Brewries since 2001 the name Nikka is a contraction of Nippon Kaju which was adpoted in 1952.
Contains whisky from Yoichi and Miayagikyo distilleries this was originally only for the Japanese market. This whisky comes from some of the oldest stocks available at both distilleries and it regularly receives the kind of reviews mere mortal drams can only dream of.
