The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chillfiltered.
One of the most visited distilleries in Scotland, Blair Athol is the spiritual home of Bell's blended whisky. Built in 1798, at that time is was called Aldour after its water source. The distillery was mothballed for 17 years before production was restarted 1949.
