Melrose Drover were founded in 1872 as a wine and spirit merchant, whisky blender and gin rectifier. They were responsible for around 10 brands of blended whisky, as well as being an agent for Glenfarclas for a time. Golden Crown was one of their best-known brands - this bottle most likely hails from the 1940's/50's.

This bottle also bears a stickers that show it was sold through the Icelandic State Monopoly.
Please note that somebody has hand written "1951" on the label. While we cannot guarantee that this is the exact vintage of this bottle, it would seem to be a reasonable estimate.
