Here's something more than a little bit exciting - the oldest Japanese single malt released to date! The Saburomaru distillery has been distilling tiny amounts of malt whisky since the early 1950's - they peat all of their malt and this whisky was distilled all the way back in 1960 on a continuous "allospas" French still.
Even though this auspicious release was vatted from several casks, the number of bottles filled was still minuscule - a mere 155 vessels filled from ex-red wine barrels.
