Lot number: 093-0926
Winning bid: £5,200
Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy departed, the distillery was left in tatters, and after a long compensation battle, involving the House of Lords, the distillery was brought back online. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Paterson, presents itself as a luxury brand, with some of its bottlings among the most expensive in the world.
Matured for almost four decades in bourbon casks before a final 18 month stint in 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem sherry casks.
It's named after the latin word for 'Constellation' and is certainly rather shiny.
42% ABV / 75cl
