Dalmore 1966 30 Year Old 300th Anniversary of Shepherd Neame
Lot number: 098-00603
Winning bid: £3,600
Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy departed, the distillery was left in tatters, and - after a long compensation battle involving the House of Lords - the distillery was brought back online in 1922. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Paterson, presents itself as a luxury brand with a history of wealthy backers, with some of its bottlings among the most expensive in the world.
A Dalmore 30 Year Old laid down in 1966 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Master Brewers, Shepherd Neame.
