Inspired by Colonel Albert Blanton, Blanton's Single Barrel range was launched in 1984. Elmer T. Lee selected the finest barrels from Warehouse H, the same one that Col. Blanton used to select his personal favourites from, and these became the first American entry into the ultra-premium whiskey market.
The original single-barrel bourbon, first introduced in 1984. Here's a tip for those of you wanting to collect a few Blantons - the horse and jockeys on the bottle stoppers are all in different positions and poses.
Each stopper is marked with a single letter that spells Blanton's when the set has been completed. Like Smarties caps (for those of you old enough to remember that) for grown ups. We approve!
