Benrinnes 10 Year Old James Eadie
Lot number: 109-02252
Winning bid: £35
When Rupert Patrick decided to use his great-great grandfather's name, James Eadie in his new venture, he started by looking through old ledgers and tracking down forgotten blends. James Eadie was born near Gleneagles establishing his brewing and bottling business in 1854 and his whisky was known as "an ancient Scotch mixture that was dispensed to a favoured few". Reviving the old blend, Patrick invited one of Scotland's finest Master Blenders, Norman Mathison to bring his ancestor's whisky back to life. The company is now establishing itself as a single cask and small batch independent bottler.
