Lot number: 0610902
Winning bid: £70
This strong beer was brewed in 1902 by the reigning monarch at the time, King Edward VII. There is a common misconception that it was in celebration of the coronation in the same year, but sources have proved this to be incorrect. His High Royal Highness started the mash during his visit to the brewery in 1902.
The beer was stored in casks and wasn't released until 1905 when a small amount was released with a larger batch released in 1911 for the coronation of George V.
We have no ABV information for this lot, but the bottle is approximately 25cm tall and the fill level is just below the shoulder.
Please note that due to the age of the bottle it is fragile and the bidders should pay attention to the condition of the label and wax seal. We are unable to offer insurance on the shipping, and the purchaser accepts full liability for the shipment of this old bottle.
Please examine the images of the bottle, any packaging and labels carefully and satisfy yourself as to their condition before making a bid.
