There are several factors that make the Springbank distillery unique. It is the oldest distillery in Scotland owned by the same family, 100% of the production process is carried out on one site, and it remains the largest private employer in Campbeltown employing over 60 people.
We'll try not to get carried away with hyperbole here, but this bottle is a true gem - we've handled it with the sort of reverence usually reserved for holy relics and newborn babies. Distilled in Campbeltown shortly after the Great War, when there were still around 18 other working distilleries in the town, this ultra-rare bottle is a snapshot of a bygone era, with only a handful of bottles surviving.
Distilled in the same year as the fabled "Springbank 1919", this shows the foresight of the Springbank distillery in laying down casks for far longer than many of their contemporaries.
The lot comes with a letter of purchase, signed by the then distillery manager, which details the distillation and bottling dates of this spectacular bottling.
