Twice destroyed by fire the current Aberlour distillery was designed by Charles Doig in 1898. The biggest selling single malt in France, Aberlour is owned by Pernod Ricard and uses unusually broad based stills with high swan necks to produce a delicate berry flavoured spirit.

Dalmore:
Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy left the distillery was left in tatters, and after a long compensation battle, involving the House of Lords, the distillery was brought back online. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Patterson, presents itself as a luxury brand, with some of their bottlings among the most expensive in the world.

Balvenie:
William Grant founded Balvenie distillery in 1892 using the 18th century mansion known as Balvenie New House. It is built just below Glenfiddich sharing it's Robbie Dhu springs water source. The distillery still uses it's own floor maltings and locally sourced peat.
