Bowmore 1969 40 Year Old
Lot number: 067-5373
This lot failed to meet its reserve.
The oldest distillery on Islay, Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has its own floor maltings which make up about 30% of its requirements. Its No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
A truly beautiful bottle, all 53 bottles are hand blown and the design is later sculpted from molten glass. A solid slate plinth and solid silver cap complete the image. The whisky is meant to be rather stellar too!
