The 73rd Auction

Welcome, one and all, to our dram-laden 73rd Auction!

Another month of frenzied preparation here at SWA has culminated in this: a record-breaking auction to feast your eyes upon. So gather round; it's bidding time!

When you recite the Scotch Whisky Alphabet, 'A' surely has to stand for Ardbeg; and that iconic Islay distillery is well represented in this auction. The incredibly rare Ardbeg 1815 (bottled to celebrate their 200th Anniversary in 2015) makes its debut appearance here. As does a certain new Committee Release...

We could stay on Islay for the letter 'B'; we have hundreds of bottles from the "Grande Dame" of the Island, Bowmore... but instead we'll teleport ourselves to Speyside, where we can drool over this truly knee-trembling Balvenie 1952 50 Year Old... would you look at that colour! If you're lucky enough to own one of these beauties, it's surely a contender for "first bottle cracked open when the zombie apocalypse comes"...

C stands for... hold on, we can't expect you to sit through a full A to Z of whisky; long, drawn out whisky monologues are best saved for the pub or sitting room, with a quality dram in hand! Suffice to say that from quirky Japanese gems such as this Karuizawa Rouge Cask, to venerable old indie stars such as this Strathisla 1953 from Gordon & MacPhail, this epic auction really does have something for everyone.
