Caol Ila 1982 Connoisseurs Choice

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched back in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends so this was quite an unusual move for the company. But the range has proved to be a hit for more than 35 years.

This bottle was distilled at the largest distillery on Islay, Caol Ila, which sits on the Sound of Islay overlooking the picturesque island of Jura. Most of Caol Ila ends up in blends, but it also produces a wide variety of peated and un-peated single malt expressions.
