Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distills, matures and bottles its whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms. Since its renaissance in 2001 its range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46% ABV and above. It is a pioneer of cask management, peating levels and presentation.
A private bottling for the world-famous Bon Accord Alehouse in Glasgow released in 2007. This bottling of 1993 Bruichladdich was the first in a series of bottlings for the pub.
