1897 Quinine Gin including 1cl of Quinine Distillate
Lot number: 086-1456
Winning bid: £30
1897 Quinine Gin uses cinchona bark as a natural source of quinine, noting the date in its name to reflect on when the ingredient was popularly mass-produced in Java. It was in the same year of 1897 that Sir Ronald Ross had a breakthrough in malaria-fighting medical thought; and thus, for every bottle of 1897 Quinine Gin sold, £5 is donated to a malaria charity.
This gin has an infusion of 13 traditional botanicals such as grapefruit and lemon peel. Included is a 1cl bottle of Quinine Distillate to compliment the gin.
45.8% ABV / 70cl x 1, 60% ABV / 1cl x 1
Please note minor making on the neck of the bottle.
