With its distinctive square bottle, its label angled precisely at 24° and the iconic Striding Man, Johnnie Walker is the world's best selling Scotch whisky. It was created in Kilmarnock in 1865 and is now available in almost every country in the world. Between 1906 & 1909 John Walker's grandsons introduced the colour names which the bottles still bear to this day.
A special limited edition Johnnie Walker blend released as an RSVP invitation - accompanied by some flowers and a copy of the Dumfries Weekly Journal from the day after Burns' funeral - for a commemorative dinner in 2006. Celebrating the great Rabbie Burns with the lyrics from his song "Rantin' Rovin' Robin" etched on the front of the bottle:
"25th January 1759, For William To celebrate on this day the birth of your first born, Robert. He'll hae misfortunes great an sma, but ay a heart aboon them a He'll be a credit till us a We'll a be proud o Robert. John Walker."
