The 105th Auction
Ended January 5, 2020
Seasons greetings to everyone here from SWA and we hope you are all having a lovely time with friends and loved ones all over the globe. Our malty grotto is filled to the brim so if you’re not already pouring a large festive dram then please take a browse and see if you can pick up a treat or two. You snow the drill by now so let’s get started with what's in store.
To begin the seasonal feast, we’d like to draw your attention to a St Magdalene 1982 from Gordon & MacPhail. This is believed to be one of the oldest bottled single malts from the once active Linlithgow distillery. It’s come from one American refill hogshead and bottled in a truly chic bottle and exquisite box. We’re getting art deco vibes here.
For those seeking to indulge in luxurious holiday extravagance, we have not only a Glen Grant 66 Year Old but a 65 Year Old too! Tis the season for indulgence afterall and G&M continue to treat us! Both up for grabs separately, these bottles are two of the Glen Grant trilogy project by Polish based Wealth Solutions.
Talking of trilogies we also have in a Bowmore Gold 1964 44 Year Old. Part of the 1964 trilogy, this is some of the oldest Bowmore ever to be released from the distillery. Go on treat your ‘elf..
If you’ve perhaps had a touch too much of the Scotch this season, you can always ring in the new year with a rare and exciting bourbon! Spread your wings further afield and take a look at this Double Eagle Very Rare 20 Year Old. This special edition contains two crystal eagles to represent the two decades of maturation. One sits inside the bottle at the base and one comes as a stopper to be used after opening this rare spirit. The decanter is hand-blown and individually treated to make this bourbon extra special! Check out the video of them making this impressive glassware!
Now if it’s liquid history you’re seeking we have a bottle of White Horse bottled in the same year as the first broadcast by King George V! Yes that’s pretty old but still looking in good (saint) nick! Sorry.
New releases this month include The Macallan Easter Elchies Black and their music inspired Concept Number 2. Perhaps getting a further bargain with the latest Black Friday 21 Year Old from the Whisky Exchange.
Have a dram on us to bring in the bells, get bidding and remember…
