Lot number: 002007
Winning bid: £80
Auchentoshan 12 year old lowland malt. Bottled in ceramic flagon to celebrate the centenary of Clydebank 1886-1986 at 43%.
The late Michael Jackson's tasting notes from Whisky Magazine describes it thus:
Nose: Soft. Warm grass on a summer's day. Pastry. Custard tarts. Vanilla.
Palate: Sesame. Nutty. Oily
Finish: Candied citrus peel. Orange zest. Cedar. Oak
Comment: Gently restorative. Subtleties gradually become apparent. Not quite as complex as I remember it.
