Ben Nevis 1971 36 Year Old Old Malt Cask
Lot number: 119-04177
Winning bid: £650
Formed after Fred and Stewart Laing parted ways in 2013, Hunter Laing is under ownership of the latter and his two sons. The company took over Edition Spirits and began releasing their First Editions series. Since the demerger, Hunter Laing claimed the following ranges: Old Malt Cask; Old and Rare Selection; and the Sovereign.
The Old Malt Cask range is usually bottled at a preferred strength of 50%, known as "golden strength", as it is believed this strength allows the drinker to experience the malt in its full and redolent glory.
