19th Century Napoleon 1811 Grande Fine Champagne Cognac x 2
Lot number: 120-04510
Winning bid: £2,200
Napoleon Cognac was recreated by Courvoisier in 1910. It is now a Fine Champagne cognac (a classification that didn't exist in 1811) and is made from blend of Grande and Petite Champagne cognacs, some matured for up to 20 years.
Perhaps one of the rarest finds, these bottles represent an important time in history. It was not only the year that the town of Cognac received Napoleon, but also the year that his second wife, Marie Louise gave birth to his son.
