Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy departed, the distillery was left in tatters, and - after a long compensation battle involving the House of Lords - the distillery was brought back online in 1922. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Paterson, presents itself as a luxury brand with a history of wealthy backers, with some of its bottlings among the most expensive in the world.
A Dalmore 12, renamed Kyndal The Brightest Spirit - created 15th October 2001, to commemorate the creation of Kyndal Spirits - which was eventually renamed Whyte and MacKay. Got that?
