Glen Moray 2008 13 Years Old Falklands War 40th Anniversary Claxton's Charity Bottling Bottle Number 109
Lot number: 130-06175
Winning bid: £120
Marking the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands War this Glen Moray single cask has been released to commemorate the 255 personnel who did not return home. These 255 bottles of Glen Moray Speyside whisky, matured in Paulliac Bordeaux Casks, aim to raise money for those still living with the after-effects of this war.
The funds raised by the purchase of this unique bottling will go towards helping the surviving Veterans through two charities- The Falklands Veterans Foundation (FVP) and The South Atlantic Medal Association (SAMA82).
The Falklands Veterans Foundation (FVF) was the first UK based charity for Falklands Veterans and their immediate families and is committed to providing a network of support and direction for those in need. Even after 40 years there are still many veterans suffering the effects of their service.
The South Atlantic Medal Association (SAMA82) intend to maintain and promote a sense of pride and comradeship among all veterans of the South Atlantic campaign, and to keep them in touch with each other in a manner which respects both individual privacy and personal requirements. They also want to establish and maintain contact with other organisations involved in the welfare of the armed forces, and to ensure that due consideration is given to the interests of all Falklands veterans.
All bottles are individually signed by Nigel Phillips CBE (Governor of The Falkland Islands and High Commissioner of South Georgia & Sandwich Islands) and Major General Julian Thompson (CB, OBE– Commander 3 Commando Brigade)
