This special edition bottling is truly a time-capsule!
Produced in 1937 by Courage & Co Ltd for their 150th anniversary. This bottle in the late 30s would have been categorised as a high-end product, produced with various ages of single malts and sold to experienced whisky connoisseurs.
A Shipping agent named John Courage purchased a small brewery in Horsleydown London in 1787. With several family deaths and changes of circumstance the Ale Brewery was taken over by the Imperial Tobacco Company. After moving to Reading for expansion the successful brewery was sold off to the Foster's Company who would later merge with Grand Metropolitan Breweries and create Scottish Courage as its brewing arm.
As of 2007 the rights to production were sold to Wells and Young's Brewing Company where it continues its success to this day.
A true piece of history which rarely pops its mysterious head up!
No ABV or Volume stated but it is expected to be 70 - 75cl
