Talisker was founded by two brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in 1830 and until 1928 practised triple distillation. The distillery was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire in November 1960, including commissioning identical stills to those that had been destroyed in the fire. In 1998 it was part of Diageo's Classic Malts original line up and in 2014 it became the 10th best selling single malt in the world and demand keeps growing. Recent releases include Talisker Skye and Talisker Neist Point.
A classy Talisker released as the second in the new Bodega Series; a range that aims to showcase exceptional Sherry cask finishes. Delgado Zuleta are one of the world's oldest Sherry makers and the second in the series has been finished in casks that previously held their flagship wine, La Goya; a manzanilla sherry aged in casks more than a century old.
