The Highland distillery of Knockdhu was built in 1877, marking the genesis of The Distillers Company (DCL), who would later evolve into industry giant Diageo. Used almost exclusively as blending stock, It didn't become known as a single malt until (under the new ownership of Inver House) its first official expression was released onto the market in 1990.
After a short time, the rather wise decision was taken to create the brand name “anCnoc”, and while it's pronunciation may not be immediately obvious, it had the desired effect of avoiding confusion with Knockando.
Spanish Oak and American Oak casks come together to create this fantastic vintage 1975 anCnoc, complete with modern and luxurious black and gold labelling.
