Based in Kagoshima, the Kanosuke distillery is run by Komasa Jyozo, one of the leading shochu makers in Kagoshima. Their claim to fame is a barrel-aged shochu called Mellowed Kozuru which was launched in 1957. The distillery opened and began distilling in late 2017 and is now producing bottles of its own New Pot.
Selected by Stefan Van Eycken & Hideo Yamaoka, this is the first in the Ghost Series which features artwork entitled "Sagi Musume" from the series "New Forms of Thirty-Six Ghosts" by legendary ancient ukiyo-e master Yoshitoshi.
