Glencoe 1937 5 Year Old Straight Bourbon 1 Pint
Lot number: 143-02035
Winning bid: £400
A very Scottish sounding bourbon from Louisville, Kentucky.
During the five years it was laying in barrels World War II broke out two years into its resting period. This bourbon being bottled in 1942 is fitting as that is the year, after the December 1941 Pearl Harbour bombing, that the US really got involved in turning the tides of the War.
Incredibly hard to estimate how many of these bottles remain and in what condition, having the chance to own an example in as good a condition as this (it has been over 80 years since bottling) is an opportunity that cannot be easily passed up.
Distilled: 1937
