100 Pipers 20 Year Old 75cl
Lot number: 158-05236
Winning bid: £80
Taking its name from the ballad of 'The Hundred Pipers' - the story of the men who supposedly lead Bonnie Prince Charlie into battle in the Jacobite uprising of 1745 - the 100 Pipers is the core blend in the Chivas Brother's portfolio but the Seagram name remains on its label; the original parent company of the Chivas range. The blend is now known as Black Watch.
This blend was released to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Presidency of His Excellency General Gnassinbé Eyadéma (incorrectly spelled Ngassinbe Eyadema on rear label) who, according to The Guardian, ruled Togo for 38 "brutal and fearful" years.
