Round the World (Springbank Blend)
Lot number: 012402
Winning bid: £50
On April 1, 1994, Robin Knox-Johnston and the crew of the yacht Enza New Zealand sailed across the finishing line to win the Jules Verne Trophy race. The Round the World record had been smashed, setting a new time of 764 days, 22 hours, 17 minutes and 22 seconds.
What's this got to do with whisky? On board Enza New Zealand was a special cargo of 30 year old Springbank single malt. Having travelled round the world at record speed, it became the special ingredient in this unique blend. 70cl decanter, and bottled at 43%. Aged 15 years
