Pride Of Strathspey 1938 50 Year Old G&M Decanter 75cl
Lot number: 0540094
Winning bid: £1,500
This "Pride of Strathspey" is widely recognised as being a Macallan under Gordon & MacPhail's own label.
The history behind this label comes from the "disputed" years at Gordon & MacPhail. Between the 1950's and 1980's G&M were the official bottlers for Macallan. However this license was withdrawn for a period of around 15 years and they were forbidden to use the distillery name on any bottlings. So G&M created a range of bottlings that allowed them to continue releasing Macallan but under a different guise. One of these such bottlings is the Pride of Strathspey range.
An understated gem, this Macallan is presented in a Crystal decanter along with certificate of authenticity.
