Yamazakura Rare Old Whisky 250th Anniversary
Lot number: 0590235
Winning bid: £1,500
The contents of this beautifully crafted hand-blown bottle are perhaps as confusingly spectacular as the glassware itself; Yamazakura imported top-notch bourbon barrels from Kentucky a full 30 years ago, and aged a portion of spirit for 10-15 years... before then apparently decanting it into a tank and forgetting all about it...
...Decades passed...
...Fortuitously, it was then rediscovered in time for Yamazakura's 250th Anniversary, and given a few more years in specially obtained Maker's Mark barrels. In a final act of respect to this critically endangered liquid, they commissioned 100 bespoke glass bottles to be made by Komure Takahito (a legend on the Japanese glass-blowing circuit).
Cask Type: Bourbon (Maker's Mark)
56% ABV / 70cl
Bottle Number: 25 / 100
Please examine the images of the bottle, any packaging and labels carefully and satisfy yourself as to their condition before making a bid.
